I use the xOrganizer tool to switch between them depending on whatever I’m feeling.Hi Captnchris I use the ASXP-11 it is very good and accurate, it has two types of clouds, one for better performance and the other with high resolution, but they are not spectacular. Overall, I seem to prefer ASXP+UWXP for VR (sometimes Skymaxx pro) and either 圎nviro or Enhanced Cloudscapes for flatscreen. Weather system visualization is not great. Very impressive volumetric clouds and lighting effects, but leaves some to be desired IMO.

Still looks fabulous.Įnhanced Skyscapes seems to be our most popular plugin at the moment, and is really a steal at $15. Can be performance heavy as well, but around the same as Skymaxx Pro with volumetric clouds enabled. Also not compatible with ASXP (XE uses the default internal weather instead), nor xVision or any other visual enhancement suits. Unfortunately 圎nviro is NOT VR compatible which was a huge downside for me, and is also very expensive at $70. Best looking clouds for XP11 out of all of them, along with sky textures, lighting, etc. XEnviro is the most “comprehensive” and complete environment addon and is the most visually stunning and realistic-looking (in my opinion). Visuals can sometimes lack but this is a solid deal. Also does a lot of lighting, Sky, water, and general environment tweaks that make it a nice all-in-one. Note that the 3jFPS plugin needs to have the cloud density settings tweaked up in order to properly render overcast (if you use 3jFPS). This is my preferred VR plugin mainly due to performance. UWXP is a good all-around option and is reasonably priced at $35 (I think on sale now for $25). Kind of expensive with the $20 “RealWeatherConnector” being necessary to use ASXP, total of $60 for the suite. Overcast conditions can turn into a VR slideshow. I tried this as I was looking for a good VR-compatible plugin, with mixed results. Lots of cloud texture options, and has a great/polished look. Skymaxx Pro has great visuals but is performance-heavy.

Also works great with the included cloud textures or just default. Hoping for better native weather in XP12.ĪctiveSky is great for a weather injector (actual weather data/wind, layers, etc.) and is compatible with UWXP, Enhanced Skyscapes, and Skymaxx Pro. Unfortunately, this has proven much easier said than done. I’ve tried basically every weather plugin available for XP11 in an effort to get the best balance of functionality, visuals and performance.
